Group workshops

A safe and grounding creative space to explore, learn and connect with ourselves, each other and the world around us. Through art-making, guided reflections and honest sharing, our group workshops are designed to inquire into a range of topics and themes to support you in your journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and compassionate self-care.

Workshops take place in-person and online, and are open to the general public. Facilitated by our registered Creative Arts Therapist and held in a non-judgemental, encouraging environment that celebrates people of all abilities and walks of life.

No artistic skill or experience needed to attend. Bookings essential as places are limited.

FAQS

  • In-person workshops are held at various locations in Healesville, including at our practice location at Habitat 1, 177-179 Maroondah Hwy (map).

    Online workshops are delivered via Microsoft Teams and streamed live to allow attendance from anywhere in Australia and around the world. All workshops are facilitated in AEST/AEDT timezones.

  • We facilitate small to medium group workshops of up to 12 participants for in-person events, and up to 20 participants for online events. Our group sizes ensure personalised attention and support, while enabling deeper connections and conversations to still emerge.

  • Looking forward to a workshop only to find out it’s been cancelled due to minimum numbers not being reached is frustrating. This is why we prefer to do things differently at Beyond Valleys Art Therapy. Unless hosted by a guest facilitator, we do not have minimum numbers for our workshops to run.

    As long as you’ve booked your spot, you can have the confidence that we’ll show up on time, rain or shine. Hooray for no last-minute cancellations!

    Keen to join us? See what we’re hosting next below, or browse all upcoming events here.

  • All materials are included in our in-person workshops. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own materials if there’s something specific you’d like to work with on the day.

    Some workshops may also invite you to bring an item from home in support of your experience, so please check the description for any details about this prior to booking.

    If the workshop is online, you will need:

    • A quiet and comfortable space away from distractions where you can talk and create freely;

    • A fully charged or plugged-in device with camera, microphone and speaker functionality (e.g., computer, tablet);

    • Stable internet connection to access the workshop link;

    • Any materials you’d like to work with or have on hand (e.g., paper, pencils, paints);

    • Specific materials if required by the workshop (this will be listed in the workshop description so please have a look there before booking).

  • Our workshops offer creative experiences and educational tools that can facilitate personal growth and development, but they are not in and of themselves therapy as they do not provide individualised mental health support.

    Our workshops require participants to be able to look after their own mental health and wellbeing, and to be mindful of others when sharing personal experiences.

    If you are looking to address mental health concerns relating to your individual circumstance, we encourage you to consider Individual Art Therapy or consult with a qualified mental health professional.

  • We’re passionate about creating experiences that are meaningful and relevant to you and our community. If you have any feedback, ideas or suggestions for us, including if there’s a workshop topic you’d like to see in the future, let us know! We’re all ears.
